First Dental Visit

At your appointment, one of our doctors at Sutton Place Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry will spend unrushed time with you, examining your mouth and teeth, as well as talking to you about your wishes, needs, and concerns. Exploration and planning are important for long-term success. Your doctor will look at the big picture, how all your teeth play a role in the overall look and feel of your smile. You’ll tell the doctor what you want in a smile, whether you have a big event coming up, such as a wedding. You’ll look at the before-and-after album to find a case that matches your situation, and establish a treatment plan with your doctor that fits your needs and desires.

Panoramic digital

During your first visit, you may receive a full-mouth x-ray, for accurate diagnosis and effective therapy. With this procedure, we can clarify the cause of missing teeth, investigate syndromes and systemic diseases, investigate periodontal problems, take a look at your sinuses, investigate any temporomandibular joint complaints, and check for any signs of other dental disease.

Digital x-rays

We use only digital x-rays at Sutton Place Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry. With digital radiography, we take x-rays of your teeth with markedly less radiation to you than with a regular dental x-ray machine. Then we can store your x-rays on our computers and access them faster than ever before. Additionally, your images can be sent electronically to insurance companies, dramatically decreasing processing time and resulting in faster payment.

Intraoral Camera

We use the easiest, smallest, and most advanced intraoral camera that is about the size of an electric toothbrush. With this Schick intraoral camera, we can magnify your mouth and show you on a screen exactly what we see in your mouth. This allows you to see for yourself the crack, the stain, the gap, the receding gum line.

Diagnodent

One of the most important things we do for our patients is to identify and fill cavities. Since even the smallest spot of decay can threaten the integrity of the entire tooth, finding and filling cavities is the key to preventing further problems of all kinds. Cavities often hide along fissure lines, or inside biting or occlusal surfaces.
